The Bike Ride |
The Deal: Some friends and
I will be leading a group Mountain Bike ride along the
Barton Creek Greenbelt on Friday,
October 26th. The core group will be Brian Hanson and my groomsmen:
Everyone else is invited to join us, but be advised that this is an intermediate level ride. If you are at all unsure of your ability to complete a 14 mile round-trip ride, which includes several creek crossings, you might want to investigate a more basic ride. We'll be starting from (and returning to) the Zilker Park trailhead which is near the Playscape Picnic area that we've reserved (for kids & non-bikers). The Times:
The Bikes: If you need to rent a bike, contact the Bicycle Sport Shop located on the Town Lake Hike & Bike Trail.
The Trail: Barton Creek Greenbelt The Basic (Easy) Ride: Both Zilker Park and Bicycle Sport Shop are located adjacent to the Town Lake Hike and Bike trail. This is an 11 mile smooth gravel path that runs along both the north and south sides of Town Lake. There are numerous bridges that allow you to cross over the lake. Just be aware of the joggers and dogs.
