I am the Great Great Grandson of Pietro Stellaccio b. Feb. 1865 in Montecorvino Rovella, the son of Gennaro Stellaccio and Rosa Notarfrancesco. Pietro Married to Vittoria Coralluzzo, daughter of Donato and Antonietta (Freschia) Coralluzzo, abt. 1889 in the Parrocchia Ss. Pietro e Nicola e S. Maria Assunta in Montecorvino Rovella where he was also Christened. I'm trying to connect my Stellaccio family to that of a friend. His Grandfather Antonio Stellaccio b. 1867 in Montecorvino Rovella was the son of Pasquale and Maria (Fortunato) Stellaccio. Antonio had an older brother named Pietro b. Oct. 1865 who was also Christened in the same Parrish. Pietro and Antonio both came to Philadelphia around the same time and resided not far from one another. I have reason to believe that they were first cousins and that Gennaro and Pasquale b. abt 1840-45 were brothers,their father being named Pietro and most likely b. abt. 1825-30. Hi. I am looking for our appropriate lastname. My family has said our lastname is not correct and just by looking at it, you can see its not right. The story is my grandpa couldnt read or write so he couldnt spell our lastname. Its Rgnonti ( rig-non-t) but on papers we found and on my grandfathers tombstone its spelled Raymonti. If you put the two together they are pretty close. I was wondering if there was a way to figure this out. We have been trying for years and have never came up with an answer. A couple of years ago I received a suspicious telephone call from a woman who claimed to be a relative of ours. Her last name was Mescola. She is a stranger to me and was asking personal information, such as my mother's maiden name - who is not a Tedeschi. I was very uneasy and did not give out the information. Later. I received a letter from another stranger shortly after informing me that there was unclaimed property from the State in my grandparent's name. The woman who sent me this letter was also wanted information regarding my mother's maiden name, social security number ect. in order to claim this property. I telephoned the state controller's office and discovered that there was unclaimed property in my grandparents name and did not need to go thru this stranger to claim it, but thru the State Controller's Office. The woman who telephoned me never mentioned to me that there was money in my grandparent's name, but two years later I discovered that she left a message on this site with my grandfather's social security number and where he worked, exactly where the claim originated. I would like to know if anyone has received any telephone call or letters from a woman by the name of Riccarda Mescola ? I remind anyone who is looking for relatives to be wary of anyone asking for your sensitive information.

Is anyone researching in the towns of Crespano del grappa or Paderono del grappa. Also am looking for aunt and uncle deaths in Bueno Aires Argentina.Have had little surccess in getting information out of the commune archive or even the church, but I shall keep trying. I did get an answer from a Military district I wrote to in Verona, they put me onto the Archive of State at Vicenza, for these records of 1898. So just written and hopefully will get an answer. I am looking for any information on my father and his family history. The only information that I do have is that his parents immagrated to the Chicago(?) area from Italy, possibly Sicily or Naples. My father was born Robert Louis Bacigalupo April 6, 1927in Chicago IL. He has a brother Joseph, not sure if older or younger. When I last I heard from Joseph, he was living in Chicago, this was in 1987-1988. Not sure if still living. I know that he lived in Roseburg OR for a time and had a child with his wife Irlene, not sure of her maidan name or anymore info on this wife. The child he had with her is Stephen Bacigalupo. He met my mother, Annie Elliott Marose in Roseburg and that is where I was born, we then moved to Houston Texas, until he past on. I know that my father was in the Merchant Marines from approximatly 1972-1976(I am not to sure on these dates)My father died January 9, 1978. I am looking for (DeMichieli) relatives from Udine (Zoppola or Cavasso Nuovo). My great grandfather (Osvaldo)and his wife (Irene) moved from Italy to Bamberg, Germany and opened a Terrazzo/Stone business. My grandfather, Osvaldo, was born in Germany in 1906 and came to the U.S. in about 1922 or 1923 to escape the German army. He had two brothers killed or MIA in the German army. After 7 years, in 1953, he returned to Italy to settle their estates. He was killed in a car accident while there and never returned to the U.S. He is buried in Cavasso Nuovo. I have heard that he had two brothers killed. The funeral records show another brother, Ferro, who took care of the funeral. I have pictures of my grandfather and, probably, his sister and her daughter. I don't know if he has other siblings. Oswald DeMichieli married Marie McCoy in the U.S. and had four children. His son, Vic DeMichieli, had 7 children of which I am one. I plan to return to Italy soon and would love to meet relatives.

The 1900,1910 and 1930 Census records are available from Ancestry.com for a fee of course. I have found a number of my relatives and have been able to go back several generations. Keep in mind that sometimes New Orleans was the port of destination. Remember that the immigration helpers spelled the name the way THEY heard Italian letters in English. There is always a variation of some sort such as Americanizing the name. If anyone has info on surname Bila from Salaparuta-Palermo-from Palermo Region or (Patro/Patra/Petra)Patronella from Corleone Sicily please drop a line.

Joe, I need any info on my husband's grandparents, Francesco AMARANTO who married Angela/Angelina TROZZI in Oklahoma in 1900. They both were from the Pescocostanzo, Italy area. He came over 3 times, found him on Ellis Island, but can't seem to find where she ever came over.The first time Francesco came over in 1893, a Giuseppe AMARANTO came too, same age, same town, I suppose they were twins. Hi Joe, Just found your page and hope that someone can help me with my search. My gr.grandfather was born in Livorno about 1840 (?). His mother was Joanna Predisia, father was Joseph Pellegreen(and variations). he was a farmer. Gr. Grandfather was also named Joseph Ralph acc. to marriage cert. issued in NSW 1870. Official documents spell the name 7 different ways! As he was not literate (lived in the bush here) officials just put anything the name sounded like to them. He probably arr. Australia c 1855. It is so hard to get info about him and I know nothing of his parents but their names. Hope there is some news for me. Thanks.

My Granfather was in Trapani, Sicilia during world war II. ONce the war was over he returned to America. While in Sicilia my Grandfather met a little girl who he cared for very much, she was about 9 at the time, he was 22. He has a picture of her and often tells stories of this gracious little girl and how she was very respectable and polite. He also mentioned that he had hisparents sent her a care package from America with cloth, buttons, threat and other nessesities for making cloths. He is very old now and would like to find her number so that he may talk to her about the past. her name is Pierina Rao and her last known address is in Trapani. She would be about 65 to 70 yrs old.
