Termini Imerese, Sicily. My father's family (Geraci/Marcellino) is from there also. I
would strongly encourage anyone with relatives from Termini to take a look at the
following web site (if you haven't already): http://www.termini-imerese.org/ This is a web
site all about Termini Imerese genealogy and heritage/culture. There is a great surname
database and also an email mailing list with over 100+ other people researching family
from Termini. It's free and we're always looking for more people who might know something
about this topic or have something to add (even if it's a good canolli recipe!). Please
join us! Ken Geraci

I'am interrested in information about my grandfather's family who has gone abroad ( to
N.Y ) at the beginning of the last centuary (1910 ?). My grandfather ( Giuseppe Faro )
stayed in Trecastagni ( Catania, Sicily ) at his aunt's, because he was to young to travel
by ship. There were several brothers and sisters and I've heard that in the beginning
there has been some contact by letters.

I have been looking for info on my ancestors from Castelcivitta, Salerno Province,
Italy. Surname is Marra. I believe they came to US between the years 1890 and 1900. My
greatgrandparents were Philip and Teresa Marra and they settled in Watertown, NY with
their 4 sons: Joseph, Peter, James and my grandfather Frank (Horatio or Orazio). I have
found info on my grandfather and his brothers through Watertown cemetary records, but have
been unable to find anything on greatgrandparents, such as dates of death or burial place.
I know there are still Marras in Watertown, but I'm not sure which ones, if any, are
related. Anyone out there doing similar research??? Please e-mail me. Thanks!

I'm looking for information about the DALTOS from TEGGIANO, the CUIFFOS and PELLEGRINOS
from SANZA. My Grandmother, Rafaella Dalto, was married to Cono Russo at the Church of
Saint Cono in Teggiano in approximately the 1890's. My grandfater came to NY City around
1900 and was drafted into WWI. My father, Michael Pellegrino, came to NYC at age five in
1913 with his sister, Mary, who was about 8 at the time. My father's mother, Angela
Pellegrino, died in Sanza just before the children were sent for by her husband Biaggio.
Does anyone have any information about imigration records, ships, etc. in NYC at that
time? Any info about researching relatives in Sanza or Teggiano? Thanks so much.

Towns", but the page wouldn't display. Disapointed. My great grandparents are Joseph
Marietta and Maria Carrera from Corio, Piemonte. My Husband's grandparents are Calogero
Nestler from Enna, Sicily and Maria Nardi from Dipignano, Calabria. Yes, The surname,
Nestler, originates from Germany; but in this family has been in Sicily since about
1600's-1700's, originating with the first Nestler from Germany (Bavaria), Cristoforo
Nestler. There are still some cousin's in Sicily and in Rome. My Husband has much info
from the old country about his family, but I have very little. Would love to hear any info
about the regions of Corio, Enna, Dipignano and anything about these surnames. Thanks!

I am a freelance writer, currently writing a mystery set in the 1940s in Trenton, New
Jersey. In doing research I discovered that I don't know much about my own family
background. So anyone related (and I know there are many cousins out there) or a family
friend, any help would be appreciated. My family name is MUCCIE (Italian name Micuccio).
My mom's father was Frank Muccie and had 11 kids, all in Trenton. My grandmom was named
Guiseppina Tunnillo (changed to Josephine Tummillo). In 1940 she married Peter Barber
(Barbero) who came here from central Italy after WWI. I know next to nothing about my
grandparents and great-grandparents. My mom (Annina Micuccio) married an Englishman and
was an outcast! I do know that the family hustory begins in Trenton in the late 1800s with
Tummillo coming here in the 1920s.

Hello - I am attempting to locate Italian ancestors related to my grandparents -
Salvatore Romagna (born Dec 24/1881) and Ceasara (Cira)Romagna (nee Tamburini - born Feb
8, 1890). Salvatore arrived in Montreal, PQ, Canada in 1908 and Cira followed in 1911. His
brother Lazarro Romagna came in USA in 1906 and settled in Niantic, Connecticut. Both
Salvatore and Lazarro had large families and my mother Nella is the youngest daughter of
Salvatore (born 1923). We believe the birthplace of the Romagna brothers (and possibly a
sister)was either Fano or Pesaro, Italy. Their parents were Guiseppe and Barbara Romagna
(for whom I am named). My grandmother - Cira Tamburini had a brother Primo Tamburini and a
sister Anna who married Mr Giangolini. We believe that Anna Giangolini had two daughters
and that one was named Maria (born early 1920s?). It would be wonderful to locate some
living relatives of either the Romagna or Tamburini families still located there. I had
the opportunity to visit the Adriatic coast of Italy last year and the Emilia Romagna
region. Pesaro is also located near here but I did not visit the town. However I plan to
return in May, 2001 and would welcome the opportunity to meet with any distant relatives.
Thank you to anyone who can put me in touch. Barbara Morton - Toronto - Canada

Hi, the (great great grandparents) of my grandfather "Aurelio Federico"
emigrated to Sonora, Mexico (San Antonio de Oquitoa) from "Palermo, Sicily"
along with many other Italian families to work in the Silver and Copper mines of the
SouthWest. I know that some of our relatives opted to work and live in New York instead at
that same time. Many of the Italian Families moved to Arizona and purchased land after
many years, including my family. Some Federico's from "Back East" visited with
my Grandfather in the mid 1960's but that is the last I heard. I was Just wondering if
there are any other FEDERICO families who know more about the family history and any
possible connections to the South West Federico Family. Thanks, Anthony Federico Sanchez

Thank you Joe! I have long been searching for any relatives with the last name of
Travelli/Travelle/Travilla?(I'm not sure of the spelling! My grandfather would have come
to this country around the 1890s?..or before? He ended up in a small town in Northern
Nevada (Mineral Hill), close to Elko. I believe he owned/ran a boarding house or saloon in
that area, and he may have started out as a miner in that area. He had three children
there...James, William (Bill), and Hattie. My father is gone now, and never told me very
much about his father...we never knew him. This has been a long search...4 years now, so
if anyone is familiar with the Travelli name please contact me. I understand he was a
"Swiss-Italian"...HELP !!!!!!!

of the spelling of her first name} NEGRI, born 15 April 1860/61? in Tirol, Austria. Her
father is Joseph NEGRI supposedly.) and grandpa (John VILLANOVA, born about Oct.

Hi Joe, I check your guestbook periodically and enjoy reading the messages from other
researchers. I've been fairly successful in finding family; however, I can't nail down any
info about my grandfather Raffaele LaRosa's brothers Ignazio and Matteo. If anyone out
there is a descendant of these men, I'd love to hear from you. Ignazio and Matteo LaRosa
were said to have immigrated to Tampa (Ybor City cigar making area)in early 1900s from San

of CATALANO, BARLOTTA, ERRIGO and RANDO. My maternal grandparents were Girolamo and
Gaetana(BARLOTTA) CATALANO from Callatafina, Sicily. THey were both born in Sicily and
died in Endicott, NY, USA. Girolamo CATALANO = B: 1873; D: 1940. Gaetana (BARLOTTA)
CATALANO = B: 1883; D: 1940. They immigrated to the USA in 1906 with a two year old
daugter (Anna/Antoinette CATALANO Tarricone). We believe my grandfather's mother's &
father's first name was Antoinette(a). and father's name Nicoli. In Approx. 1927, Gaetana
BARLOTTA CATALANO's mother died in Sicily (first/maiden name unknown). RANDO-ERRIGO: My
paternal grandfather was Guiseppe (Joseph) ERRIGO and my paternal grandmother, Rose RANDO
Errigo. They came from Castellamarre del Golfo, Sicily. Guiseppe ERRIGO was born in 1879
and died in Endicott, NY, USA in 1942. Rose RANDO Errigo was born in 1892 died in
Endicott, NY in in 1955. She came through Ellis Island about 1909-11. He came to the USA
in the late 1890's. Guiseppe first settled in Boston, Massachusetts where he heard there
were jobs in the mines to be had. He stayed a short while as all jobs were filled...then
went to Endicott, NY to work at EJ shoe factory. He became a citizen of the USA on Sept
13, 1921. We know his father GIOVANNI ERRIGO) died approx. 1923 in Sicily...probably in
Castellamarre del Golfo. My grandfather's mother's maiden name may have been GIR-A-VEECE (
this is a phonetic spelling and may be "close but no cigar"! Would appreciate
any leads... thanks so much! Gae

Note that the e-mail address is changed from that shown in my 1999 entry on my Caproni
family. Since that note I have determined that one of my relatives, Aida Gonnella, was the
wife of Peter Paul Caproni's brother and partner, Emilio. Peter Paul came to the US in
1876 and established a famous art business, copy-casting many of the great works from
Italy., He bought a small art shop at Province ct in Boston(?). He made many trips to
Italy to copy famous works. Business expanded. He built the existing building on
Washington st (#1920) in the district of Roxbury Boston in 1900. A 1928 newspaper article
(presummably around October or November, says that he has several brothers all in Italy.
He retired and sold his business in 1927 but had retired his pace for the last few years.
Perhaps this corresponds to the departure of Emilio in 1922. The article also says he
lived at 1731 Beacon st, Brookline Ken Caproni

Hello Joe, How wonderful to find this website as I begin the search to find out about
my maternal grandfather. His name was John (perhaps Giovanni) DeVincenzo. It was changed
to DeVincent when he came to the U.S. He studied in Rome for 13 years to be a priest and
when he changed his mind, he came to America. He had a brother Joe, who settled in
Illinois and worked as a shoemaker.I understand that both of his parents were murdered
back in Italy. I don't know their names, but it would have had to have occurred sometime
around 1910--or shortly after. He died at approximately age 37 in Wisconsin in 1916. Any
information would be greatly appreciated. I am just getting started.Thank you for creating

Joe: I was wondering if you could help me locate my great aunt Pollyanna. Actually, her
name was not Pollyanna, it was Virginia. But we often called her Pollyanna because we
enjoyed the ensuing confusion. She wasn't all there as she got older, you know. Actually
you might not be able to help me because she was not Italian, or even Sicilian. She was
Norwegian. Do you do Norwegian genealogy too? That is fantastic!! I don't think you look
Norwegian though. Which is too bad because most Norwegians are very handsome...and have
you seen those Norwegian women?? Wow!!! What lookers! Did I mention my great aunt
Pollyanna/Virginia was a woman? She was!! Anyway, it probably wouldn't be of much help to
you. Maybe if you did a search on the entire Delicto family you could come up with
something. Probably not anything that would pertain to me though because Delicto is not my
real name. I sometimes use it though, when I visit Italian genealogy pages. Does that
count? Probably not. Anyway, be sure to visit my website (above) and leave me a message in
my guestbook. Maybe you will see something on my page which will help you find my great
uncle (did I mention that??) Pollyanna. Thanks again! Jon (Inflagrante Delicto) Anderson

updating the information as I now have my own e-mail, on my request for information
concerning Josephine Adelaide Migliori. She was born in 1859( ? Italy or england ) and died
in england in 1917. She married an Isaac Manley in 1891 in Liverpool Uk, but her son
Robert Haines Migliori ( my grandfather) had been born three years previously. there was
no mention of the fathers name, however, it was common apparently in those days to utilise
the second christian name as being the biological father. On the marriage certificate her
deceased fathers name was Federique Migliori. Due to the illegitimacy of my Grandfather,
it has been difficult to trace accurately any more information concerning her past.
Funnily enough there was a Haines, at the same time, in the same area of liverpool, who
was a Mariner. Maybe, her father brought her over from Italy, and he was the boyfriend!
Anyway, we would obviously be interested in any information. thanks.

Researching ZAPPA, DEANGELO, RICCI, PERELLA, PUGLIONE Families. DeAngelo, Perella and
Puglione families were from Castel del Giudice, Aquila Abruzzi, Italy. DeAngelo's were
from Vacarenza Cosenza, Italy. Specifically looking for any information on Filomena
Perella born on August 8, 1857. Her mother was Maria Nicola Puglione and her father was
Carl Perella. Any help on these individuals would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - I've been trying to locate any distant relatives from my family. My maiden name is
RODINO. I know that my great grandfather, CONO RODINO, immigrated here in the early 1900's
and my great grandmother, ROSALIE, (Don't know maiden name) came here a short time later.
I am having great difficulty locating any information on either of them. I know that I
have great Aunts and Unlces still living in the NEW JERSEY area. My grandfather's name is
ANTHONY G. RODINO. If anyone has any information or who might be related to me I would
like very much to hear from you. Thanks

Hi Joe. Thanks for putting together this informative site! I've just started my search
and I know it won't be easy because my grandfather's name, Languis, was said to have been
butchered in immigration in the early 1900's. My grandmothers maiden name was Comiti. They
both came from Santa Theresa Gallurda in Sardegna. I believe I still have cousins there
and would very much like to find them. If anyone out there can point me in the right
direction, I'd be most appreciative. I've already been to POINT and PIE sites. In the
meantime, I'll just keep surfing and searching. Good luck to all!

I need help finding my ancestors. I am looking for Anthony, Dominica, and Joseph
(Fortunatu is his birth name) Cardinale. I know they came to America from Italy in 1906.
No one in my family knows anything about them. They kept their past a secret. I just want
to know where my roots came from and what the secret was. If anyone has any information
they wouldn't mind sharing with me, please e-mail me. Thank you.
