You can also go to this website: http://gens.labo.net/genera.html/ On the top, click "Cognomi." You can enter your surname on the left-hand side ("cognome") and you'll get a map of Italy showing where this surname is concentrated. It's awesome. And don't let anybody tell you your name isn't Italian unless they've memorized all the phone books in Italy.
