My Ma is 100% Itailian. I can remember as a kid growing up in a small town up north that the few Itailians in town knew each oth and stuck together. I can vividly recall being in 4th grade and going on a field trip with my class. My Ma went along as a chaparone. We had to bring our own lunches. While every other kid was eating PB&J, my Ma and I were downing Italian sausages with fried onions and green peppers on homemade bread. Ok, it didn't seem too cool at the time but God I love those memories now as an adult.
