I remember growing up in Jersey City, NJ in a mostly Italian neighborhood. Saint Aloysius and Our Lady of Victory Parishes, easy to know where someone lived when all you had to do was tell someone the name of your parish. How about the Holy Name Day Parade in Lincoln Park, West Side Ave. The feast days when we had the parades through the blocks, they would walk all the way from downtown and carry the Blessed Mother and allow you to pin on dollar bills which was alot in those days, especially to a kid. So many memories. The old grandmas all sitting in lawn chairs in the driveway of one house in the summer time talking about everything and watching over all the kids. Sure was safer then. I could go on and on. I wish you a lot of luck with this page and will visit it often to read all the stories that I know will soon be here. Good Luck
